The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9a-3p in the beautiful backyard of Absolutely Art, 2322 Atwood Ave., Madison, WI 53704. We are conveniently located next to Café Zoma and on the Capital City Bike Trail. We have more bike parking than car parking so bike, bus or walk if you can. There is no rain date at this time.

Do you have beads you don’t need, or glues you don’t use? We invite you to clean out your studios, closets and garages for art supplies and useable items you don’t use any more. Bring them to our “Re-Art Swap” and try something new. You can trade in your trash to find your next treasure.

Some examples of things to trade are beads, broken ceramic items, brushes, buttons, calendars, cardboard and mat board, clay, crayons, fabric samples, findings, gears, glass, industrial scrap/end caps and rolls, magazines, metal, office supplies, old vases, packing material, paint, paint swatches, pens, pencils, wood, paper, wallpaper books, screws, spools, stock photo books, tools, unused yarn/string …

Bring your own bag or box to carry your new found treasures home, remember this is a “green event”. If you are not able to attend the event and you’d like to participate by dropping items off or if you have questions regarding the event, please call Meghan Blake-Horst at Absolutely Art, 608-249-9100 or email Meghan@absolutelyartllc.com to make arrangements. Absolutely Art stores all the remaining treasures, and allows the public to continue swapping their gently used items for new inspiration, by appointment.

Donations (even your pocket change will bring a smile to our faces) will be accepted on the 25th. If you are not able to part with any of your trash you may swap for a donation to the fund. All the money collected will go into our “Shirts that Supply” fund. This fund was created to provide art supplies to schools and community groups that do art projects with children. Every time the fund reaches $50 we then contact a local school/community group and find out what is on their art “wish list” (in some cases this could be basic supplies and tools). We will then purchase the supplies and deliver them to the group. Absolutely Art also has shirts for sale (design compliments of Jennie Neuse) and $5 of each shirt sale also will go into the “Shirts that Supply” fund. Please help us foster art education for our next generation!

We have proudly donated supplies to Lowell, Marquette, Goodman Atwood Community Center, The Respite Center, Monroe St. Fine Arts Center, The Rainbow Project, Toad Hill Children’s House, East High School, Wingra School and Elmside School. This is an all ages, family friendly event. Teachers are encouraged to join in the event and throughout the year. Meet other artists, network and get inspired!

Volunteers are needed for this event, please contact Meghan Blake-Horst at (608) 249-9100 or meghan@absolutelyartllc.com if you are interested in helping make this event a success. Shifts are available between 7am-5pm. Refreshments and an Absolutely Art Tee-Shirt will be provided for volunteers.

Meghan Blake-Horst
Gallery Manager
Absolutely Art<br
